A few years ago, after my grandad died, I created a series of embroideries of his gardening tools on his handkerchiefs. I will never sell those originals but I have also created some other pieces using the same design. The outline is from my grandad's gardening trowel and the floral design is from a pattern found in my granny's sewing box. I have hand stitched the design in fine off-white silk thread to create a delicate and soulful piece, on an old blue linen napkin. Signed and dated 2013. The blue cloth is 39cm square roughly and is stitched and mounted onto white board ready for framing (45cm square). This piece is reduced in price simply as old stock, it's in perfect condition.
